These sites cover a variety of veterinary topics, with the primary focus on pet owner education regarding common veterinary disorders.

• “State-By-State Guide to Moving with Pets” at mymove.com provides excellent information for those who are moving across state lines. You may not know it by there are animal import laws that vary by state. If you don’t know and follow the appropriate laws, you may be subject to fines or other penalties.
• Common Dog and Cat Diseases Use the search function at www.petplace.com to access information on common dog and cat diseases. These articles are written by veterinarians, for clients.
• “Teach Your Kids To Be Good Pet Parents” is an article at www.mypet.com that suggests how to teach kids about pet care and the responsibility of caring for a pet.
• “Bringing a Baby into a Dog’s World” is another article at www.mypet.com that talks about the steps you should take to introduce your new baby to your dog and ways to ensure the safety of both.

Veterinary Cancer Resources:

• Although the website www.felinecrf.com is not written by a veterinarian, it provides excellent information on Pet Kidney Disease in an easy to understand format, covering everything from common symptoms to how to administer subcutaneous fluids.

Pet Dental Resources:

• The Veterinary Oral Health Council VOHC®, www.vohc.org, is an organization that is dedicated to awarding their Seal of Acceptance to dental products that have met their standard for effectiveness in retarding plaque and tartar.
• General oral health information for keeping your pet’s mouth happy and healthy can be found at www.petdental.com, a website sponsored by Hill’s®Pet Nutrition.

Cat & Dog Diabetes Mellitus:

• Advice about insulin treatments and suitable diets for managing canine and feline diabetes can be found at www.cat-dog-diabetes.com.

• Rainbow Bridge is the Nebraska Humane Society’s cremation service.  If you are in need of some extra grief support, Teresa Freeman, of Freeman Counseling in Omaha, is a therapist who specializes in grief and pet loss.
