Appointments
We book appointments based on the time necessary to examine and treat each patient.  Please give us a clear picture as to your animal's needs when you schedule the appointment, and plan to spend an hour at Fort Street Veterinarian.  We encourage you to bring a fresh stool sample with you.  It may be necessary to leave your pet for a few hours while we run additional diagnostic tests.

We will do everything possible to keep your appointment on time, and we appreciate your patience and understanding when emergencies arise which put us behind.  We know that if your pet had an emergency, you would want us to treat your pet immediately.

Emergencies
If you have an after hours emergency with your pet, please call the Animal Emergency Clinic at 339-6232.

Multiple Pets
We want to help care for all of your pets, and recommend that you schedule separate appointments for each animal.  Unscheduled patients can infringe upon the time allotted for the next client and patient, and can cause us to run late and others to wait.

Surgery Admits and Discharge Appointments
We schedule surgeries on Monday, Wednesday, and Fridays.  It is essential that each patient be at the Hospital, to be processed for admission, at the assigned time.  A patient arriving earlier or later than the scheduled appointment may be asked to wait, while our front office team admits those patients who arrive at their scheduled appointment.

A specific amount of time is required in order for our nursing team to prepare each patient for surgery.  Each patient's overall heath status is evaluated, and any needed blood screening is done prior to anesthesia.

Discharge is from 3:00 to 5:00 pm, please plan to spend about 15 minutes to discuss follow-up care, patient’s treatment plan and answer questions.

 Cancellations
Everyone's time is valuable.  We reserve a significant amount of time for you and your pet, and a missed appointment means lost time and great inconvenience.  It also may mean that another patient has been turned away.  Please give us 24 hours notice if your schedule changes and you are unable to keep your pet's appointment. "No Shows" or late cancellations may be subject to a fee equal to that of our office visit.  We appreciate your understanding and courtesy.
